Hope History
Serving God and Our Community
Hope Tabernacle first began in 1996 under the direction of its founding pastors Rev. George and Grace Rosado. As Directors of New Life Home for Women and Children, they saw a need to bring these hurting women and their children to a church where they could worship freely. Unable to find a church home, they decided to start Hope Tabernacle in the inner city of Manchester.
They realized that there are so many others hurting in the largest city north of Boston. The church remained at its location on Cedar Street. Over its more than 20 year history Hope Tabernacle has remained a beacon of light to the inner city families of Manchester.
In 2009 Rev. John Rivera and Evelyn Rivera continued in the original vision for the church by reaching hurting and needy families of the community. The church, now Hope City Church, continues to proclaim the hope that is found in Jesus Christ.
